On April 27, the online meeting of the economic operation analysis of the chlor-alkali industry in Q1 2022 was held. Zheng Jiebin, deputy secretary-general of CCAIA, made a detailed analysis and exposition on the economic operation, prominent and hot issues of the chlor-alkali industry in Q1 2022, and made a forecast on the operation of the domestic chlor-alkali industry in Q2. In the first quarter, the economic operation of the domestic chlor-alkali industry showed a growth trend, and the operation characteristics were mainly reflected in: 1. The production capacity was stable, and the output decreased year-on-year; 2. The export of caustic soda increased significantly, and the export volume of PVC remained high; 3. The raw material market was operating at a high level; 4. The downstream demand kept growing. In the first quarter, the benefits of the domestic chlor-alkali industry have increased significantly compared with the same period last year. The meeting believes that although there are still many uncertainties in the second quarter, based on factors such as production costs and the expected increase in downstream demand, the overall industry operation in the second quarter will show a stable and positive trend.
