CCAIA held an online kick-off meeting of the preparation of the group standard for Carbon Emission Accounting Requirements of Membrane Electrolysis Process in Chlor-alkali Industry

On June 15, CCAIA held an online kick-off meeting of the preparation of the group standard for Carbon Emission AccountingRequirements of IonicMembrane Electrolysis Process in Ahlor-alkali Industry. Among the participants were heads or editors in chief from Tangshan Sanyou Group, Qingdao Haiwan Chemical, Junzheng Group, Shandong Xinlong Group, Inner Mongolia Elion Chemical, Xinjiang Tianye Group, Shaanxi Beiyuan Group, Ningxia Risheng High Tech Industry and Tianyuan Group. While Fanhongbo, Secretary General of the Standardization Working Committee of CCAIA, presided over the meeting, Zhang Xin, Vice President of CCAIA, introduced the background and significance of the standard preparation. The group standards of carbon emission accounting requirements werecompiledto establish and improve the carbon emission accounting of chlor-alkali production, formulate the carbon emission baseline of typical processes, guide chlor-alkali enterprises in carrying out carbon resource management in an orderly manner and provide reference and basis for carbon trading. While Fan Hongbobriefly explained the outlineand working ideas of the group standard, the attendees had a full discussion, focusing on the sharing proportion of carbon emissions from chlor-alkali products and deduction of carbon emissions from the use of hydrogen as energy. At the meeting, the next work arrangements were made with the preparations of the first draft of the group standard planned to be completed in late July.
