On January 16th, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, CCAIA, and China Chemical Industry Environmental Protection Association held a workshop on the application of ion exchange membrane caustic soda using waste salt as raw materials in Beijing. Zhuang Xiangning, the Deputy Director of the Quality Safety and Environmental Protection Department of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, Tang Shengxiu, the Deputy Director, Cai Enming, Director of Industrial Development Department, Zhou Xianhui, the president of China Chemical Industry Environmental Protection Association, and Wu Gang, the Executive Vice Secretary-General£¬Zhang Xin, Vice president of CCAIA, Zhang Shoute, deputy secretary general and Li Qiong, department director attended the meeting.The "Industrial Structure Adjustment Guidance Catalogue (2024 Edition)" has been recently issued and implemented. In the restricted category, it is clearly stated that more than 40% of new, modified and expanded projects for caustic soda must use industrial waste salt as raw materials. The meeting focused on how to leverage the service functions of industry associations and better provide support for government and enterprise work. Before the meeting, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation reported to relevant leaders of the Industry Department of the National Development and Reform Commission on the work carried out by the three industry associations around chemical waste salt and chlor-alkali applications, and received recognition from relevant leaders. The meeting fully discussed the next step work to play better support role of association services.
