The Nanjing Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Visited CCAIA to Exchange Views on the Work of Chemical Substance Risk Assessment

 On October 18th, a delegation led by Director Wang Lei from the Chemicals Research Center of Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, visited CCAIA for exchanges. Zhang Xin, the vice president of CCAIA, and Wang Li, the director of the Research Department, participated in the exchanges. Director Wang Lei introduced the background and significance of the risk assessment work for priority-assessed chemical substances in China, as well as the progress of the risk assessment of 1,2-dichloroethane at present. CCAIA provided a detailed introduction regarding the production process, industry production and sales, and import and export situations of 1,2-dichloroethane. Both sides will strengthen cooperation to conduct a comprehensive environmental risk assessment of 1,2-dichloroethane, to provide a technical basis for determining whether it will be included in the list of new key pollutants under national control in the next step and how to adopt environmental risk control measures. After the meeting, both sides jointly conducted a field investigation at the Nangang Production Base of Tianjin Bohua Chemical Development Co., Ltd.
