CCAIA Attended the Discussion Meeting on Medium-chain Chlorinated Paraffins Organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment

 On April 21, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment organized a discussion meeting on the topic of medium-chain chlorinated paraffins at the COP12 meeting of the POPs Convention. Ding Qiong, Deputy Director of the Solid Waste and Chemicals Department, Tian Yajing and Gao Peng, Second-level Research Investigators, Xiao Xuezhi, Chief Scientist of the Foreign Economic Cooperation and Exchange Center, Peng Zheng and Duan Chunfeng from the Third Compliance Department, Zhang Lifei, Researcher of the Environmental Development Center, etc., participated in the meeting. Wang Li, Director of the Industrial Research Department of CCAIA, attended the meeting. The meeting carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions on the relevant contents in the Proposal of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee on Including Chlorinated Paraffins with Carbon Chain Lengths in the Range of C14¨C17 and Chlorination Degree Equal to or Higher than 45% (Chlorine Content by Weight) in Annex A of the Stockholm Convention and the Draft Text of the Proposed Amendment. Deputy Director Ding Qiong fully affirmed the preparation of CCAIA's group standard of Industrial Chlorinated Paraffins, and suggested that industry enterprises further enhance their participation in the POPs Convention and make relevant preparations in advance for transformation and upgrading.
