On July 29th, the online press conference on the economic operation of the domestic chlor alkali Industry for the first half of 2025 was held by CCAIA, attended by 100 nodes from producers, traders, service institutions and other units along the industrial chain. Wang Li, Director of the Industry Research Department of the Association, conducted a detailed analysis of the industry operation in the first half of 2025 and the market influencing factors in the second half of the year. She pointed out that the domestic chlor alkali market showed the characteristics of "two highs" and "two lows" in the first half of the year. The export volume and monthly export volume of caustic soda and polyvinyl chloride products both reached new highs in previous years. The polyvinyl chloride market dropped to the lowest price in recent years in early June, and the downstream alumina industry's per-unit consumption of caustic soda fell to a new low in recent years. She suggested that in the second half of the year, the focus should be on changes in the domestic and international macroeconomic dynamics and related policies, as well as fluctuations in the supply and demand relationship and production costs of the chlor alkali market. In additon, factors such as foreign trade exports and futures markets will also pay a role in shaping the domestic market trend.
