CCAIA Participated in the 21st Meeting of the POPs Convention Review Committee

 From September 29 to October 3, the 21st Meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC) of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutant was held in Rome. A delegation consisting of units including the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Crop Production Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, the China Chlor-Alkali Industry Association, the China Fluorosilicone Industry Association, the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc attended the meeting as observers. Wang Li, Director of the Industry Research Department of the Association, participated in the meeting. The meeting deliberated on the draft risk profiles of PBDD/F and PBCDD/F, reviewed the specific exemption for the production of perfluorooctyl bromide using perfluorooctyl iodide for pharmaceutical manufacturing, deliberated on the draft terms of reference for the review of medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) focusing on two aspects, namely the 3% threshold concentration of MCCPs and specific exempted downstream uses, and discussed matters including the draft indicative list of long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids (LCPFCAs), their salts and their related compounds.
