On January 13, the symposium on economic operation analysis of key industries in the petrochemical system was held in Beijing. The Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, CPCIF, CCAIA, CSIA, CNFA, CPFIA, CCPIA, CRIA, NCIA and CDIA among other associations attended the meeting. For our part, Zhang Peichao, the Vice President and Secretary General, and Zheng Jiebin, the Vice Secretary General, participated in the meeting, which was chaired by Fu Xiangsheng, Vice President of CPCIF. These key associations introduced the economic operation in their respective industries and put forward targeted policy recommendations. At the meeting, Zhang Peichao introduced the economic operation of the chlor-alkali industry in 2022, including the current supply-demand pattern of leading products, obvious market fluctuations and export growth. At the same time, he pointed out that the industry was facing problems such as the decline of downstream consumption boom, the imbalance between alkali and chlorine, and the rise of electricity prices, and put forward relevant policy recommendations. In concluding speech, Vice President Fu Xiangsheng mentioned that the overall economic operation of the petrochemical industry remained stable in 2022 and the operating revenue and profit maintained growth. At the same time, problems such as high raw material costs, insufficient downstream demand and weak market expectations still exist, and the downward pressure on economic operation is still large.
