From June 28 to 29, the 2023 World New Energy and New Materials Conference with the theme of "New World Outlook in the New Era of Energy " was opened in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. Wang Lixia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Inner Mongolia and Chairman of the Autonomous Region attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech there. The International Energy Agency and the International Renewable Energy Agency delivered speeches via video. As Huang Zhiqiang, Executive Vice Chairman of Inner Mongolia, presided over the opening ceremony, Wang Dapeng, Deputy Director of the New and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration and Xing Tao, Deputy Director of the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology were also among the participants. At the opening ceremony, Lu Daoping, winner of the Friendship Award of the Chinese Government, academician of the Finnish Academy of Sciences, chief scientist of the Solar Energy Center of Southeast University, Ouyang Minggao and Li Can, academicians of CAS, and Li Zhenguo, president of Longji Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., delivered keynote speeches and released the latest achievements of cutting-edge technologies such as hydrogen production by electrolysis, liquid sunlight, efficient olefin production, green production of PVC and new coal based materials. The relevant leaders of domestic universities, scientific research institutions and industry associations, representatives of relevant central enterprises and well-known domestic and foreign enterprises as well as leading staff of international organizations, relevant departments of the autonomous region and different leagues cities participated in the meeting. Zhang Wenlei, President of CCAIA, attended the conference and the Coal-based New Material Forum and New Energy and New Material Exhibition held synchronously as well.
