On October 30, the fourth plenary meeting of the Expert Committee of the National Coordination Group for the Implementation of the Stockholm Convention and the National Coordination Group for the Implementation of the Mercury Convention was held in Beijing, and more than 40 members of the special committee attended the meeting through a combination of online and offline methods. Zhang Peichao, vice president and secretary general of CCAIA, attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the 2023 work summary and 2024 work plan of the National Coordination Group for the Implementation of the Stockholm Convention and the Expert Committee of the National Coordination Group for the Implementation of the Mercury Convention, and fully discussed the plan for a series of commemorative activities for the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the Stockholm Convention, the preparation of the report on the results of the 20th year of implementation, and the scientific and technological needs for the treatment of new pollutants such as persistent organic pollutants.
